Theme: “I Love You”

The most impactful 3 words in any language… “I Love You”

Not just when spoken

When observed.

When you tell someone “I Love You”, hopefully your heart and actions prove you mean it.

When you tell someone “I Love You”, hopefully their heart, eyes and ears feel it, see it and hear it.

When you tell someone “I Love You”, you are doing more than sharing an emotional sentiment… You’re saying,

“I care about you”
“I have the best hope and intention for you”
“You are important to me”
“You make My HeartSmile”
And so much more

I remember having long conversations with my son, P.J. From birth, I would talk to him as if I expected him to understand. I would listen to and respond to his sounds, giggles and cries. When he was about 18 months old, I was driving us somewhere and I looked over at him and said “I can’t wait to hear you say “I Love You”.”

And without missing a beat…

P.J. said “I Love You”

I was so shocked that I had to pull over.

Happy Tears flowing… Wow-Moment!

I said, “Hey, I didn’t know you could say that.”

He said, “I didn't know you didn’t know. I Love You, Mommie.”

Nothing like seeing a confused look on a toddler’s face as he wonders why Mommie’s crying about something she should have known.

To this day, that memory is one of my favorites.

Before that day, I could see and feel that my son loved me.

For him to say it… Confirmation!

Throughout his childhood and continuing in adulthood… I still believe it!

To this day, "I Love You" continues to be one of our family's habits.
