Theme:  Holding Your Peace

Whether you’re speaking or listening, there comes a time when  you may need to Stop a thought or comment before it escapes your mouth.

Sometimes we have an idea or opinion that we think will help someone.

That same someone may not need, want or be open to hearing it.

What do you do?

Hold your peace.

Ask yourself:

“What’s the impact if I don’t share this thought or comment?”

“What’s the impact if I share this thought or comment?”

“If presence, stillness, or quiet works… Why can’t I hold my peace?”

As a Mother, Godmother, Grandmother, Aunt, Friend, Life Coach, Bereavement Facilitator with a few other roles… there are times when ‘Holding My/Your Peace’ is a battle. The urge to share a thought, comment, or opinion even with the best intention should be held in check.

Self-Control IS A Good Thing.

Loving or Caring about someone enough to know when presence should be enough and when your opinion should be just that, your opinion…

Not to be shared… Just yours.

There may be times when you are sought out to be

A shoulder to lean on

A voice of reason

A safe and trustworthy confidant

A Blessing

All of the above are honored privileges. Even more so when we discern the difference between presence and answers.

Love isn't only something we say.

It can be shown.

From my heart to yours,

Dianne Lawson 💞
