Theme: Distance

Imagine being 30+ miles from home at a family picnic, everyone is having a wonderful time… on the lake peddle boating, hiking the trails, playing games, relaxing, enjoying being together

And the joy and laughter is interrupted by someone asking

“Dianne, is that your car with the flat tire?”.

Breathe. Pray.

“Lord, I didn't bring new tire money. I don't know where I can get a can of Fix-A-Flat this far from home. I don't know what happened or when it happened. I Trust and Believe You are Not Gonna Leave Me This Far Away From Home. Thank You for Miracles and Blessings. In Jesus Name, Amen.”

Imagine family and friends watching my reactions and actions.

I stopped what I was doing to go check my car.

Uncle Charles;  “Baby, do you have a flat?”

Me: I don't know yet.

Uncle Charles: “What are you going to do?

Me: “I don't know yet.”

Sure enough, one of my tires was flat. Not low. Flat!

Uncle Charles: “What are you going to do?

Me: “I don't know yet.”

Uncle Charles: “Come on…”

We get in his truck to go to a store for Fix-A-Flat.

In a nearby store, searching the aisles for Fix-A-Flat, my phone rings…it's my son, P.J. who's at the Olympic Training Camp training for diving competition qualification.

P.J.: “Mommie, what happened?”

Me: “Flat tire. In store with Uncle Charles getting Fix-A-Flat.”

P.J.: “Is that gonna work?”

Me: “I don't know yet.”

P.J.: “Mommie! I was on the highest high board! I was about to dive off! Mommie, do you know how dangerous it is to FEEL something is wrong that high up?”

Me: “I'm sorry.”

P.J.:

Me: “Breathe. Calm down. I'm okay. God's Got Me. I'll call you back after the tire is fixed. And Do Not Dive Off A High Board Until You Calm Down. I Love You, Bye.”

P.J.: “Man. Do you know I can't concentrate if you are not okay?”

Me: “I'm okay. Breathe. I Love You, Bye.”

P.J.: “Grrrrr. Man. Okay. I Love You, Bye.”

Uncle Charles: “P.J.?”

Me: “Yep.”

Uncle Charles: “How did he know something was happening?”

Me: “He Loves Me.”

Uncle Charles: “Yep.”

The Fix-A-Flat didn't fix it.

Uncle Charles and I found a tire store 30 minutes before it closed.

Uncle Charles: “They'll be closed before we change the tire. Are you sure we got the right tire?”

Me: “I don't know yet.“

Uncle Charles: “Okay, I'm gonna get this for you.”

Me: 🙌🏾 Thank You 🙌🏾 Thank You, Lord 🙌🏾Thank You, Uncle Charles🙌🏾

Uncle Charles and one of my cousins changed the tire.

It fit!

Picnicking continued.

Joy and Laughter continued.

I called P.J., worry-free or worry-less diving continued.

Life Happening doesn't care about distance.

Love doesn’t either.

Whether you and your loved ones are together or miles apart…

God, Love and Heart-Connections are not bound by distance.

God, Love and Heart-Connections reach whatever and wherever the distance may be.

From my heart to yours,

Dianne Lawson 💞
