Theme: Heart-Connections
Heart-Connections are not always easy to explain.
Sometimes they are found in shared laughter, traditions, memories, and milestones. Sometimes they reveal themselves through support during life's most difficult moments. Sometimes they remain quietly present, even when circumstances change.
Life happened... Status changed... Heart-Connections remained.
Love is not always romantic. Love can also be mutual care, respect, appreciation, gratitude, shared history, and acknowledgment of the people and experiences that helped shape our lives.
Families evolve.
Relationships evolve.
Roles evolve.
Sometimes love means closeness.
Sometimes love means boundaries.
Sometimes love means letting go.
Sometimes love means supporting one another differently than before.
The relationship may change.
The form of love may change.
The connection may change.
Heart-Connections remain.
Over the years, I've learned that love can continue to exist even when it looks different than it once did. Different does not automatically mean broken. Different can mean healthier, more peaceful, more honest, more appreciative, and more accepting of what is rather than what might have been.
Positive Grieving has taught me that this truth extends beyond the loss of loved ones. It can apply to families, friendships, life seasons, expectations, and identities.
Love still exists.
Only different.
Take a moment to reflect:
Are there Heart-Connections in your life that have changed form but continue to exist in meaningful ways?
From my heart to yours,
Dianne Lawson 💞
